I’ve been wanting to go to Columbia Road flower market for as long as I’ve lived in London, so as my boyfriend and I didn’t have any plans for Sunday and the sun was shining we decided to finally go and see what all the fuss was about.
We hopped on the underground to Shoreditch then decided to take a little detour to Bricklane to pick up a smoked salmon and cream cheese beigel, of course.
If you don’t live in London and you don’t know what I’m talking about, Columbia Road flower market is essentially one long road in Shoreditch full of flowers that’s open every Sunday where you can buy a whole bunch of Roses and Lillies for around £5. If you go at around 2/3 pm then you can usually pick things up for half price as the stalls are near to closing and then need to sell everything.
My dress is a cheeky little sale purchase from ASOS, shoes as Topshop, Blazer is from Zara and sunnies are from Forever 21
If you follow me on Instagram (GemmaLondonLife) you’ll have seen that I picked up a bunch of Lillies, some Peonies and 12 Roses all for less than £15! My house is now completely full of flowers, which is always a good thing!
If you’re visiting London over the summer I would definitely suggest checking out Columbia Road even just for the atmosphere. It’s full of proper Eastenders who shout and barter in true Cockney slang and it’s a lot of fun.
