I’m very picky with mascara, they have to be the right balance of both volume and length and because I’m so fair, if my lashes don’t stand out then my eyes just look a bit boring. I’ve been using Max Factors 2000 Calorie mascara for a while now and I love it as it ticks all my boxes. However, I think I may have finally found something just as good or maybe better, the YSL Shocking Volume Mascara in deep black.
I’ve done before and after photos to show the sheer difference between no mascara and the YSL one.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
I think the Max Factor mascara gives better separation, but the YSL one gives a much more dramatic look, perfect for evening wear. I think I would probably use a different mascara for the bottom lashes as the YSL mascara seems to clump them together.
I haven’t quite decided whether the YSL one is too much for day wear as it almost looks like fake lashes, but I might not be able to resist wearing it!
