May I introduce you to one of the most beautiful make-up launches I think I’ve ever seen for a while. The new Clarins Opalescence collection has been launched for Spring 2014 and consists of a range of beautiful blushes, sheer lip sticks, shadows and skin tints. I think the packaging is oh so beautiful and I love that the palette comes in a lovely velvet pouch, which you could argue is pointless but I think it adds to the beauty of the collection.
I’ve been giving a few of the products a good go over the past few weeks and I have to say I’m really impressed with the quality of them. I’m well and truly a Clarins skincare girl and I have been for years but for some reason I’ve never really ventured into their make-up. After playing with this collection I can whole heartily say that I’ve been converted.
I’m a lover of a cream blush, especially in the summer and these multi cream to powder blushes (£18) don’t disappoint, they come in 4 shades and I have Candy and Grenadine. Candy is a really pretty light pink and Grenadine is a bright coral red, both blushes have really finely milled glitter running through them. I’ve been wearing Grenadine almost every day since I’ve got it, I find it’s such a wearable every day colour even though it looks quite bright in the pan- they also last all day without the need to touch up.
The Instant Light Boosting Complexion Bases (£26) are skin perfectors which aim to boost radiance whilst also caring for your skin. I have the shade peach, which I think is too dark for my complexion as it’s aimed towards darker skin types but works lovely on the tops of the cheek bones. I think this will be perfect in the summer as it contains a nice amount of coverage to wear on it’s own or with a little concealer. This product is quite heavily scented but so far it hasn’t broke my sensitive skin out in any kind of rash- good old Clarins!
The Opalescence Eye Quadlet Mineral Palette (£31) contains a matte plum, light pink, grey and a super glittery silver shadow. This palette is perfect for creating a day to night look. The light pink is perfect as an all over wash of colour on the lid with some of the grey blended through the lid then to take it into the evening the deep plum shade is great for enhancing the crease whilst the silver glitter works great buy the tear duct. As this is a wet or dry palette it means you can achieve either a light natural look or an intense one.
Next up, the Joli Rouge Brilliant Sheer Shine Lipsticks (£18) I have the shades Tropical Pink and Coral Tulip, which are both super bright summery colours. Although the name suggests quite a sheer finish these are pretty well pigmented so leave a good amount of colour on the lips. These lipsticks have quite a balm feel like to them so they don’t feel drying, which is always a bonus as I hate when lipstick leaves your lips dry and flakey.
Lastly the Gloss Prodige Intense Shine Gloss in Crystal (£17)– this is the perfect clear lipgloss to apply over any lipstick, which isn’t too sticky and lasts a fair amount of time.
So I think you’ll have probably guessed by now that I’m a fan of this collection but my favourite product has to be the cream blush in Grenadine purely because I’ve already worn it so much but I do think all pieces are great. You can find the new Opalescence range on counters or online at Clarins now.
