At the end of January Benefit will be launching the new additions to their Porefessionalfamily. I’m a big fan of the original porefessional primer but the new primer promises to provide a matte finish all day but in a hydrating gel form. I feel like Benefit have really answered my prayers here as my only issue with the original primer is that it feels quite drying during the winter so the release of a gel version is very welcome. I find that when the weather is cold the last thing that my skin needs is a dry primer. The new Porefessional Matte Rescue (£21.50) comes in a cooling gel formula that applies smoothly to the skin and leaves your T Zone matte all day. This has been my go to primer for the past few months and I haven’t found that it breaks me out or does anything strange to my make up, it just leaves my base looking smooth and, well, matte.
The second part of this release is actually a mask and let me start by saying that it’s the only mask that I’ve ever noticed an immediate difference the next day. The Instant Wipeout Mask (6 sachets for £24.50) aims to tighten pores, remove blackhead and generally de-clog the area it’s applied to. It works as a sheet mask and you apply it to the area that you want to be clear. I applied it to my inner cheek area and across the nose. I have to say that the sensation and smell is quite overpowering. It smells of really intense tea tree oil and feels really tingly on the skin, I had to lie down with my eyes closed because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Although over powering the results are worth it. The next day I woke up with a completely smooth and clear area on my nose where I normally have black heads and clogged pores. You get six sachets in the cute little briefcase box and I love idea that you press the big turquoise button to release the liquid!
