Summer is now officially in full swing and with that so is Wimbledon and the season of tennis. Being someone who absolutely loves anything quintessentially British I always truly look forward to Wimbledon and everything that comes with it from the strawberries and cream to the many jugs of Pimms. There’s nothing better than celebrating summer by watching the worlds very best tennis players play for the most prestigious title in the sport. I’ve never been lucky enough to attend Wimbledon, but it’s definitely on my list of things I would love to do at some point in my life. Most years I either watch the matches at home or head to the pub and watch with friends over pimms and fizz, which I guess isn’t too bad!
Now although I didn’t manage to secure tickets to the championship this year, you may have seen on my Instagram that I recently attended the very glitzy and star-studded WTA pre-Wimbledon launch party at Kensington Roof Gardens with Häagen-Dazs to celebrate the launch of their new Strawberries and Cream limited edition ice cream bar. The event was held on the most perfect summer evening with full access to the roof gardens that allowed the players, celebs and tennis lovers to enjoy some sunshine whilst sipping champagne and eating as much ice cream as possible.
As I mentioned I love anything truly British and I couldn’t think of anything more fitting than a strawberries and cream ice cream to bring a playful twist on the Wimbledon classic whilst paying tribute to the much adored flavour pairing of The Championships. The delicious treat is made with handpicked strawberries, the Häagen-Dazs signature luxury ice cream, and enveloped in a rich Belgian chocolate coating, if that doesn’t get you excited I’m not sure what will! Along with the limited edition flavour,Häagen-Dazs have also partnered with Bjӧrn Borg to create the limited edition packaging for the ice cream bar. The limited edition Bjӧrn Borg designed box has the official championship logo on the front and tennis balls filled with swirls of strawberries and cream, which makes for the perfect Instagram picture!
As Häagen-Dazs are the official ice cream of the Wimbledon Championships and WTA this year, their limited edition strawberries and cream ice cream will be available at The Championships for everyone to enjoy.
