As a mum I feel like I worked out very quickly what items I needed to make my feel better about myself with very little effort. This list of 5 items, in my opinion are what mums need for themselves.
- A great hair mask – It’s common for hair to become quite dry after you’ve had a baby. This is due to all the hormone changes and everything else going on with your body. This definitely happened to me and so I’ve tried and tested many products to help with this. My favourite hair mask is the Philip kingsley Elastasizer Mask, it leaves you hair feeling super soft, without weighing it down.
- Amazing concealer – This is an absolute must for me to hide those dark circles from the early sleepless nights. The Bye Bye Undereye Concealer form IT Cosmetics really works miracles. I also swear by the Bobbi Brown Colour Corrector as the peach tone counteracts the dark circles. The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer is also incredible at hiding dark circles.
- Dry shampoo – Dry shampoo is my best friend. Newborns take up a lot of time meaning you don’t really have as much time as you used to for those long dreamy showers. My favourite is the Living proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. A little goes a long way, so even though its a bit more expensive than drug store ones it will last you longer and you don’t get those annoying white patches.
- Great pair of leggings – If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I practically live in Sweaty betty leggings. They tuck everything in nicely without being too tight and are insanely comfortable. The Power Leggings are my favourite but I generally swear by all of their leggings.
- Cross over handbag – I learnt quite a few months into motherhood that a crossover handbag is so useful. It means that you can access everything you need easily, without having to empty out the whole baby bag. My everyday bags are the Gucci Soho Disco bag, which fits so much in and the Aspinal of London Camera Bag.
